BMC Election: Shiv Sena (UBT) reshuffle in leadership, Sachin Akir President of Best Commercial Army

Political activity in Mumbai is intensifying before the Bhanambhi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. The Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) has resumed the leadership of the best Kamgar Sena, appointing MLA Sachin Ahir as its new President, which is after the recent defeat of the group in the best employee cooperative bank elections.

Former President Suhas Samanta reshuffled after resigning, taking responsibility for the loss, the entire executive committee soon stepped down. To infect new energy in the organization, the Thackeray faction assigned Ahir reins, known for its experience in labor unions and organizational skills.

In the new executive team, the party’s deputy leader, Nitin Nandgaonkar has been named General Secretary, while Gaurishankar Khot will serve as the main guide. Nandgaonkar is recognized for his vocal advocacy on public issues.

Despite a joint panel between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray factions in the recent best elections, the alliance suffered defeat. The BJP later claimed that the “Thackeray brand” had lost its influence in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

With the BMC poll coming near, Uddhav Thackeray’s latest organizational shake-up indicated with the intention of recovering the lost ground and strengthening his party’s grip on the city.
