Delhi to witness the first ‘historic’ cloud seeding trial on 7-9 October
Delhi will witness the first cloud seeding trial on Tuesday, October 7, which aims to address air pollution in the national capital.
The first test will be conducted in North West Delhi from 7 October to 9 October, which will be according to the MoU signed between the Government of Delhi and the IIT Institute of Technology Institute (IIT) last week.
The government has obtained all necessary permission to complete five tests with an estimated cost. As of November 3.2 crore, PTI said.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said during the MoU signing event last week that the conclusions from the test would give more clarity on how to move forward.
The Chief Minister said that “the MoU paves the way for a two -month cloud seeding trial, which will be done using the aircraft in the appropriate days in October and November. The conclusions will help us to travel the way forward. This initiative will prove to be both historic and beneficial for Delhi.”
