Folk singer Maithili Thakur likely to contest Bihar elections: what he said
Beyond the Bihar assembly elections, the famous folk singer Maithili Thakur expressed his desire to make his political debut with his hometown Benipatti’s hometown in Madhubani district. The 25 -year -old singer said on Tuesday that when no official announcement has been made, she feels a special relationship with her village and wants to start her political career there.

Talking with reporters, he said, “I want to fight from the constituency of my house … My village, if you are given a pole ticket. I have a special relationship with that place.”

Thakur, who was here to perform at the Narmada Festival here, also talked about his favorite assembly constituency. He said, “No official announcement has been made yet, but I would like to go to my village area because I have a special relationship with it.”

The singer said, “Starting from there will give me a chance to learn. Meeting people, to meet them … If I start from my village, I will understand more.”

On Sunday, Tawade also shared photos of his meeting on X, saying that the singer and his family left Bihar during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav in 1995. He said that ‘Beti’ now wants to return after the progress of the state.

Thakur, who was born in Benipatti in Madhubani district of Bihar, received a name for herself in music, a Maithili musician, when she was 11 in 2011 and has been active ever since.

BJP leader and former minister Vinod Narayan Jha, currently represents Benipatti in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

In 2020, the 68-year-old BJP leader defeated Congress candidate Bhavana Jha by more than 30,000 votes in this Brahmin-sequence seat.

Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with votes to be counted on 14 November.
