Jan Suraj unveils first Bihar election list; Many women also included in 51 candidates
Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party unveiled it on Thursday, October 9 First list of 51 candidates For the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, in which many women feature prominently.

Among the women candidates named are Usha Kiran from Sursand (Sitamarhi), Jagriti Thakur from Morwa (Samastipur), Jayanti Patel from Khagaria, Lata Singh from Asthawan (Nalanda), Kumari Poonam Sinha. from Nalanda, Neha Kumari (Natraz) from Chenari (SC, Rohtas), and Archana Chandra from Nabinagar (Aurangabad).

The list also includes retired bureaucrats, doctors, social workers and educationists, reflecting Kishor’s earlier pledge to support candidates known for integrity and public service rather than political lineage.

Unveiling the list at Sheikhpura House in Patna, party national president Uday Singh said, “Our aim is to bring credible, service-oriented people into politics.”

While Kishor’s own name was absent from the list, Singh confirmed that the Jan Suraj founder will launch the party’s campaign on October 11 from Raghopur, a constituency represented by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Singh hinted that Kishor’s candidature may be announced later, leading to speculation in political circles.
