Look PM Modi, Keir Starmer watch classical rendition of Ed Sheeran-Arijit Singh’s Sapphire

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer on Thursday watched a classical performance by singers Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh. sapphire The song, which was played at the Global Fintech Fest at Jio World Centre, Mumbai.

Prime Minister Modi Shared a video of the performance on X and appreciated the effort of the artists.

In the one-minute long clip, PM Modi and Starmer can be seen enjoying the artistes performing on stage. The one-of-a-kind presentation had a major classic touch with other instruments like sitar, tabla etc.

Across multiple platforms, fans have appreciated the soulful blend of English with Punjabi, highlighting how the single feels both global and rooted.

Keir Starmer’s visit to India

But Prime Minister MoAt my invitation, Starmer is on his first official visit to India from October 8 to October 9.

Both the leaders participated in the sixth edition of the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. Additionally, they are also connecting with industry experts, policy makers and innovators.

Earlier, Starmer visited Yash Raj Films (YRF) studios in Mumbai and met influential filmmakers like Maddock Films’ Dinesh Vijan, Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani and YRF’s Akshay Vidhani, news agency PTI reported.

YRF said its ties with the UK “have deepened with a three-film production agreement starting in 2026.”
