Maharashtra asks government employees to deposit one day's salary in Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help farmers
In the wake of heavy rains and floods, the Maharashtra government has directed its officers and employees to contribute one day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to assist the affected farmers. According to a government resolution (GR) issued on Wednesday, the state administration has directed all employees of state services, including IAS, IPS and state cadre officers, to deposit one day’s salary in the CMRF in October.

The objective of this fund is to support relief and rehabilitation measures for farmers and others affected by natural disasters. Employees who are unable to contribute due to personal reasons may submit a written request to their respective offices.

It said the contributions collected are to be consolidated by departmental and district authorities and credited to the CMRF account.
