PM Modi, Keir Starmer discuss maritime security, India-UK military training cooperation

India-UK Print: PM Modi said that the comprehensive economic and trade agreement between the two countries will reduce import costs, and he also described the business delegation accompanying PM Starmer as a ‘symbol of new vigor’ in the India-UK partnership. “New employment opportunities will be created for the youth, trade will grow and this will benefit our industries and consumers,” he said. Indo-Pacific Partnership: India and Britain also discussed peace and stability in West Asia and the Russia-Ukraine conflict as well as Indo-Pacific security. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer reiterated the benefits of India-UK CETA, saying it has led to reduced tariffs, and increased access to each other’s markets, thereby boosting growth and creating jobs. Starmer said, “It is important that we are meeting in Mumbai, the economic and financial capital of India, because India’s growth story is remarkable… That is why I have brought a record 126 British businesses with me to India this week.” (PTI photo)
