The British Prime Minister Sir Kire Stmper will be on his first official visit to India on October 8 and 9 following the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

UK PM’s visit and Global Fintech Fest

The two leaders will meet in Mumbai to review the progress of India-UK comprehensive strategic partnership under ‘Vision 2035’ Roadmap.

“During the journey, both Prime Minister will take stock of progress in various aspects of India-UK comprehensive strategic partnership in line with ‘Vision 2035’, which binds the 10-year roadmaps of business and investment, technology and innovation, defense and safety, defense and security, climate and energy, education and major pillars of people,” the PMO said.

Prime Minister Modi And the Prime Minister’s stormer will also meet business and industry leaders to discuss the opportunities presented by the Indo-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which is a major component of future India-UK economic partnership. The visit will also include the presence in the Global Fintech Fest 2025. The two leaders will participate in the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest, which will be held at the Jio World Center in Mumbai, and will give the main speech on the occasion.

This year, the festival will bring together innovators, policies, central bankers, regulators, investors, teachers, and industry leaders from all over the world. It is estimated to attract more than 100,000 attendees from over 75 countries, making it one of the world’s largest fintech events.

The event will attract over 7,500 organizations, 800 speakers, 400 exhibitions and 70 regulators of both Indian and International Courts.

Strategic partnership agenda

The journey, Starmer’s first official visit to India, follows a meeting between the two leaders in July 2025, during which he welcomed CETA’s signature. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two Prime Ministers welcomed the signature of the Historical India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which will increase bilateral trade, investment, economic cooperation and employment generation in both economies as well as increase a new level of comprehensive strategic partnership at a new level. ,
