Private airline flight experiences windshield crack before landing in Chennai

A private airline flight from Madurai carrying 76 passengers developed a windshield crack before landing at the Chennai airport on Saturday (October 11), officials told PTI.

The pilot discovered a crack in the front cockpit glass during the approach and immediately alerted air traffic control.

Following the report, necessary precautions were taken at the airport and the plane landed safely, the report said.

After landing, the aircraft was taken to bay number 95 for parking and all passengers disembarked safely. Arrangements are now being made to replace the damaged windshield, the report said.

The cause of the crack has not yet been determined.

As a result of the incident, the aircraft’s return flight to Madurai has been cancelled.
