‘So beautiful’: Breathtaking view of Himalayan peaks from Bihar’s Jaynagar leaves X mesmerized
The snow-capped Himalayan peaks, including the majestic Mount Everest, were visible from a distance of about 200 kilometres. The stunning view was made possible by unusually clear skies following heavy rainfall in the area.

Situated on the banks of the Kamala River, Jaynagar is a culturally vibrant city that offers its residents a rare sight when the air is clean and the sky is free from fog and pollution.
Due to the city’s unique location the Himalayan peaks appear to change their color every moment, from copper to gold to silver at sunrise and again from silver to gold to bronze at sunset.

The visibility of the Himalayas from Bihar is not at all new. In 2020, residents of a village had an amazing view of Mount Everest from their home.
Meteorologists attribute this rare visibility to the haze-free environment, which is often the result of heavy rainfall clearing particles and dust from the air. This provides unobstructed views of distant peaks, even hundreds of kilometers away. Clear skies and low levels of pollution created perfect conditions to see the Himalayan mountain range in its full glory.
