A bench, including Chief Justice BR Gavai and Vinod Chandran of Justice, paid attention to the appeal of BJP leader Uma Anandan, seeking a CBI inquiry into the stampede.

“List (IT) on Friday,” CJI said.
On 3 October, the Madras High Court on September 27 formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the stampede of 27 September at the political rally of actor-royalty Vijay.
The main bench of the High Court also dismissed the petition of a BJP leader, seeking a CBI inquiry into the incident, and directed him to go to the Madurai bench.
The High Court formed the SIT under Senior IPS officer and Inspector General, North Area, ASRA Garg.
It also criticized the organizers of the event, police on TVK leadership and Stamped, in which many women and children were killed.
A total of 41 people died in Stamped, police said the rally saw a turnout of 27,000, which is about three times the expected 10,000 participants.
The police also convicted a delay of seven hours by Vijay in reaching the venue for the tragedy.
