Who is Sergio Gore? Youngest ever US Ambassador to India
Gore, 38, was one of 107 nominees confirmed by the Senate in a single en bloc vote on Tuesday (Oct. 7). At the final count, 51 senators voted in favor of Gore and 47 voted against Gore. Confirmation occurred despite the current US government shutdown.

Gore will come to New Delhi, replacing Democrat appointee Eric Garcetti, who returned to California in January after Donald Trump became president.
Other nominees included Paul Kapoor of California as Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs and Anjani Sinha of Florida as Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore.
Who is Sergio Gore?
In August, Trump nominated Gore to be the next US Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
Describing Gore as a “great friend who has been with me for many years”, Trump said that “For the most populous region in the world, it is important that I have someone I can completely trust and help us make America great again. Sergio will be an incredible ambassador.”
Gore most recently served as Director of Presidential Personnel.
Thanking Trump for his nomination, Gore said it would be an honor for him to represent America. “I am extremely grateful to Donald Trump for his incredible trust and confidence in nominating me as his next U.S. Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs! Nothing has made me more proud than serving the American people through the great work of this Administration! Our White House has achieved historic results in Making America Great Again! It will be the honor of my lifetime to represent the United States of America!” Gore tweeted.
Gore graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and international affairs in 2008. He was president of the George Washington University chapter of the Young America’s Foundation. He is currently a member of the Knights of Malta and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
He has worked in many government organizations in the field of communications.
He has served as deputy chief of staff, foreign policy advisor, and senior political advisor to U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky. He served as CEO of Winning Team Publishing and CEO of the Right for America super PAC alongside Donald Trump Jr.
